Shasta-Trinity National Forest


Clouds blanket the Trinity mountains... The Trinity river is swollen due to excess rains for the last month. On the way, I photographed this rather common tree to give you an idea of how interesting the common can be up close! Here is a branch from the tree above, lying on the ground. Notice all the fungus. If you take the time to look even closer, a magical, tiny world presents itself.
