Everglades Alligator Farm

By late afternoon, before running out of time, we drove back west to the Everglades Alligator Farm, a privately owned attraction. The big draw, of course, is the alligators. Maria gets to hold a baby alligator with it's mouth taped closed. She still seems rather cautious! I wrestled this monster to the ground, jumped on it's back, and deftly whipped tape around it's mouth. The highlight of this Farm is the fantastic airboat ride out into the everglades. This baby moves! We had to wear earplugs as the propeller engine makes a heck of a racket. We got the front row where the view was great! The water surged over us everytime the pilot? made a quick turn! This caged reptile is actually a caiman from South America. An alligator hunting along the edge of the water. They also had a pair of Florida panthers, a good sized lion!
