Duval Street, Key West

Famous for years, Duval Street has shops and bars along the way...
We stopped twice at Jimmy Buffett's original Margaritaville for, what else, margaritas and cheeseburgers! "Wastin' away again in Margaritaville, lookin' for my long lost shaker of salt ... " "Cheeseburger in Paradise ..." Key West tour bus and a mosaic car! The Bull and Whistle bar has a roof top where clothing is optional! No, we didn't go up there, just to the 2nd floor balcony! Two more restaurants we visited and we hardly saw them all! Had to have a good cigar with the meals, cigar shops were everywhere! Hmmmm... A cigar shop protected by NASA??? Oysters, oysters, more oysters please ... We enjoyed the food and usually topped the meals off with, what else, Key Lime pie, yum! Now here is something strange... Feral chickens not only run around Key West, but they are protected by a long time tradition going back to the Spanish! One of my favorite photos. This one begs for a great caption like, "It's hard to break old habits." Return to previous page
