2006 House Addition - August 30-31
Windows, house openings, demolish bathroom
The windows were delivered yesterday and stored in the garage.
On the left is the delivered shower/tub one-piece unit. On the right, after allowing
the concrete to set for a week, my Honda Insight crept inside the garage on its own
again to test its new home!
Last views of the old bathroom in one piece! When Sean told me he was going to "demo"
the bathroom, I told him I only had a toilet upstairs! He thought I also had a shower
and sink upstairs. We looked at each other for a few seconds without saying a word, then
both of us laughed. Sooooo, I will figure out how to take a shower somewhere, and there
still is a sink in my kitchen. Oh, well...
Bathroom demo. One last stand in the tub - this time the wall is missing!
Joe comes out with the vanity to the dumpster and returns to hammer away at the cast
iron tub.
On the left, from left to right are Lowell, Joe and Sean. Sean apprenticed under Lowell when
he was 17. On the right, the bedroom window is being installed.
Sean removes the old window between the new bedroom and the existing office. Views here
from inside and out. Plastic was put up in each room of the existing house to block dust.
On right, a view from inside the existing office.
Sean removing old window between the new bedroom and the existing office. The opening was later
boarded up. In the middle, the opening is cut for the new doorway between the bedroom and office.

the existing office.
On the left, Sean removes the old hallway window. The opening from the new hallway to the
existing hallway has been created as seen in the middle photo. On the right, plastic was put
up between the existing hallway and kitchen.
By this time my living room had office stuff in it, and my kitchen had bathroom stuff in it.
Time for head banging... Aarrrrrgggghhh
This ends the photos in August.
